Open Letter: To President Trump, Getting “woke” out of the BARD system–

February 22, 2025

Dear President Trump:

Other than the struggle of the Palestinian people, I appreciate most of what you’re doing to fix our government. I am writing to bring to your attention another problem I hope you can fix involving the BARD web site, which is under the Library of Congress.

If you don’t know, this is the program which puts books and magazines into an accessible format for people who can not read printed material, like me. As a reader, I feel this “woke” virus has severely effected the quality of material we are able to read and should be addressed.

First, there is too much material which seems to be directly targeting kids, such as books of performing witchcraft and inappropriate sexual material, The books seem directed at young people. Specifically, the books indoctrinate kids into this life style by providing books about girls kissing other girls and children having anal sex.

It’s not just books for kids, but so-called adult books have more “LGBT material ” or what I would called the gender-impaired community material, then they should have, based on demographics. In fact I saw a book that asserted that most people with disabilities are homosexual. This is far from the truth and should not be aloud. And what makes this worse is that they sneak in these gender-impaired books under other categories such as “fantasy” books, or they are simply not labeled even though the book clearly includes homosexual material.

I’m not a zealot Christian or military war monger, I just want “normal books for heterosexual people.” Personally, I find all this gender-impaired material completely disgusting and would prefer to never read any writings about the homosexual life style. And don’t get me started about the disproportionate amount of feminazi books, vilifying straight men.

I’m sure most men with disabilities would agree, since most men like my brother do not use the service. And I think I know why.

Finally, I respectfully request that your administration as soon as possible take a look at the BARD staff to see if any of these people are unduly influencing BARD and should be removed for their “woke” bias. Hopefully, replacing them with people who have no agenda and would provide most of us readers with the sort of material we would prefer to read (i.e. inspiring books of adventure and survival, as well as more books about human history).

Thank you for your time,
Don Wolfe
