Being Woke is mostly a joke, except for history.
We were never taught in school about black history, and very little history about women. For example, I never learned about what these white mobs did in East St. Louis and Greenwood. Or what the mob did to Emmitt Till, mutilating his body and throwing him in the river, like some kind of animal.
In fact, his mother was forced to have a closed casket funeral for her son because he was so badly mutilated by the white mob for whistling at a white woman.
